Monday morning, back in a job that leaves you feeling tired and the days just keep repeating like groundhog day. In a later one-on-one meeting, your boss sits across from you asking where you see yourself in 5 years and your stomach drops. You know in your bones that this isn’t it.
You’ve started looking at other options only to realise there are just too many choices. You feel overwhelmed, unsure what would offer meaning and a sustainable income. Analysis paralysis kicks in and you stall. Then you keep showing up at work and the pattern repeats—back to groundhog day #456.
Why is finding a career you love particularly hard as a self-identified empath you ask?
Well, first, you care deeply, but you also pick up emotional weather from other people. Ever noticed how with some people 2 hours can feel energising, while with others 10 minutes can feel like you want to go to bed, hide under the covers and never see anyone again? It’s because you’re picking up on their energy, and it can drain yours. Or uplift yours. Either way, you’re caught in their sunshine or storms.
In the workplace, this effect is amplified, and complicated by the fact that you don’t feel like your coworkers get you. You just think differently, and it often feels like you can’t speak your own truth.
This nagging inner conflict of who you are at your core versus how you have to show up at work is exhausting by itself, but to top it off, you feel like you need to manage everyone else's expectations. When all you really need is to feel seen.
However, your environment doesn’t always support you and you often feel like you just need to keep going.
You have a big heart, are a good listener and would love to help people. You actually find that gives you energy back - craving impact and making life better for others.
So when it comes to looking for a different career you are really craving something that honours your unique energy and that actually feels like YOU.
Hi, I’m Lea - career coach for empaths in draining jobs who are trying to figure out what fulfills them and get clarity to know what steps to take forward - without asking everyone else.
You probably tried to change jobs in the past, talked to friends and family, applied for a bunch of different jobs, maybe even changed career fields and have been discovering all sorts of spiritual healing modalities (astrology, reiki, human design, breathwork, anyone?) but got stuck in freeze and overwhelm.
Having a fulfilling and meaningful career isn’t a one-size-fits all approach. I created a holistic framework that meets you where you are at and combines your own innate knowing with practical, grounded research. We are not jumping, rushing, pushing by just ignoring your fears and doubts. Instead, I use a compassionate approach to move forward grounded in joy, excitement and self-trust.
After graduating from the Jay Shetty Certification School in 2021, I have been helping people build confidence in their decisions and choose a career path that excites them. Being accredited with the AC (Association for Coaching), I don’t just have good intentions and high ethical standards, but real training and accountability.
To make sure we work holistically, I am including different embodiment tools (that I studied in my somatic, trauma-informed yoga qualification).
You probably feel things deeply and try to solve them using your mind.. Which usually leads to overthinking, spiraling and anxiety. My approach uses embodiment and somatic exercises to make sure we are actually tuning into our body and fully understand what’s going on that’s causing you stress. Often, allowing ourselves to feel stops the loop and creates more peace.
“Oh but I don’t know..?”. A phrase I hear all the time and guess what? You do know, you are just too scared to face the consequences. Sometimes, it means we are stuck in our mental loops, and fears. And that’s why I integrate tools like meditation and visualisation, so that you can access your intuition and actually receive answers.
‘Cause, let’s be real, you feel deeply and it’s definitely not a lack of thinking that is stopping you from moving into a fulfilling career - it’s the pressure of having to figure it out and the big feelings that empaths have that come with any big decision.
We don’t just look at what's on paper, we meet in the emotional, messy process of where you are and how to find the right steps to move on and feel good about it.
Beyond the credentials, I have navigated my own crossroads, career hopping and searching for meaning and fulfillment to now running 2 businesses and living my purpose.
My life isn’t perfect, but I find meaning and fulfillment in and outside of my work life every day now. I get to use my unique strengths to serve others and help make the world a better place. Is it always easy? No. Is it worth it? 1000x
A little bit about me:
I blush ridiculously fast so I would be the worst liar in the world
I am a serious choc-a-holic. No day goes by without cacao! (85% dark choc with raspberry please)
My spirit animal is probably a cat. Lazing around, embodying queen energy and not letting anyone tell me what to do but really enjoying a good cuddle and having psychic powers haha
I am obsessed with plants to the point that my house is more like a jungle. Some of my friends believe I have a problem - I think it’s cute.
Workplace meetings made me feel like I’m surrounded by aliens (is it time to abduct?). I find myself secretly judging everyone and thinking to myself: surely none of you actually believe in this whole thing... RIGHT?
